ABOUT ME
Jessy is an award-winning news and feature reporter whose work can be seen in global media publications such as Rolling Stone, NBC New York, Fast Company, BBC and more.

Based in New York City, Jessy has been a part of some of the city's biggest conversations around inequality, housing and racial justice. In 2020, she and colleague Liam McBain won the NY Associated Press Best Podcast award for Question Authority, an investigative series on NYC's failing public housing agency. In 2018, she and her colleagues won a NY Emmy Award for Digital Production in Breaking News, for their work during a Bronx hospital shooting incident.
As a feature writer, Jessy is interested in the intersection of business, individuals and ethics. She's covered how insurance policies affect abortion access for Fast Company, the music business of a mega-church for Rolling Stone, and broke the story on how Facebook was allowing racially discriminatory advertising on its platform for BBC.

Jessy is also passionate about the craft of writing. She is a 2020 Brooklyn Poets Fellowship winner, and attended the Yale Writers Workshop in 2019. She's passionate about capturing the beauty of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and has written profiles on amateur paleontologists, community gardeners, child chess stars, sustainable designers and more.
